At approximately 1:56 p.m., a DPS trooper stopped a 2005 Chevrolet pickup traveling east on IH-40 near Conway, for a traffic violation. A DPS canine unit was called to the scene and alerted on the vehicle. The trooper then discovered several plastic-wrapped packages of marijuana inside a false compartment in the bed of the truck.  The drugs are valued at approximately $880,000.

The driver, Viridianna Federico, 22, of Nogales, Ariz., and passenger, Dominick Rivera, 21, of Tucson, Ariz., were arrested and charged with felony possession of marijuana. Federico and Rivera were transported and booked into the Carson County jail.
