A Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) trooper on Friday, July 10, arrested a North Carolina robbery suspect and two others during a traffic stop near Texas 114 and Alcove Avenue in Lubbock.
At approximately 11:00 a.m., the trooper stopped a 1998 Ford Ranger pickup for a traffic violation and noticed that the license plate on the pickup did not match the registration that was displayed. The trooper determined later that the Ranger had been stolen from Haywood County, N.C.
The trooper identified the occupants in the Ranger and discovered that two of the occupants had outstanding arrest warrants. Leslie Nicole Harbin, 27, of Waynesville, N.C., was wanted in Haywood County, N.C., for robbery with a dangerous weapon, assault with a dangerous weapon, possession of stolen property and larceny. Jonathan Leroy Taylor, 35, of Midland, was wanted in Hockley County for unlawful restraint and driving with an invalid driver’s license. The third occupant, Jason Neal Hardin, 37, of Canton N.C., was arrested for failure to identify and giving false information.
The trooper received information that the license plate on the vehicle was stolen from another vehicle in Seymour, Texas. All three suspects were booked into the Lubbock County Detention Center.
