DPS Trooper Seizes over $1.51 Million in Illegal Drugs

The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) seized over $1.51 million in illegal drugs Wednesday.

At approximately 10:34 a.m., a DPS trooper stopped a 2016 Ford SUV for a traffic violation on IH-40 near Conway, in Carson County.  During the traffic stop, the trooper conducted a search of the vehicle and discovered several plastic-wrapped packages of heroin inside the spare-tire holder.  The heroin weighed almost 12 pounds.  


The driver of the Ford, identified as Reynaldo Corrales, 46, of San Fernando, Calif., was arrested, booked into the Carson County Jail and charged with possession of a controlled substance. 

The illegal drugs were allegedly being transported from San Fernando, Calif., to Raleigh, NC.
