The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) seized over $151,000 in marijuana Sunday.
At approximately 11:43 a.m., a DPS trooper stopped a 2007 Toyota Avalon for a traffic violation on IH-40 near Conway, in Carson County. During the traffic stop, the trooper conducted a search of the vehicle and discovered several vacuum-sealed packages of marijuana in a large bag inside the trunk. The marijuana weighed over 25 pounds.
The driver, identified as Tadeusz Mierzwa, 59, of Decatur, Ga., was arrested, booked into the Carson County jail and charged with felony possession of marijuana.
The illegal drugs were allegedly being transported from Sacramento, Calif., to Decatur, Ga.
