The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) seized over $303,000 in marijuana Saturday.

At approximately 1:21 a.m., a DPS trooper stopped a 2014 Honda Pilot for a traffic violation on IH-40 near Conway, in Carson County.  During the traffic stop, the trooper conducted a search of the vehicle and discovered several vacuum-sealed packages of marijuana in two large duffle bags. The marijuana weighed 50 pounds.

The driver was identified as Truong Nguyen, 47, of West Valley, Utah.  Nguyen was arrested, booked into the Carson County jail and charged with felony possession of marijuana.

The illegal drugs were allegedly being transported from Oakland, Calif., to N.C.
