DPS Trooper Seizes over $358,000 in Marijuana Satruday

The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) seized over $358,000 in marijuana Saturday.

At approximately 9:47 a.m., a DPS trooper stopped a 2015 Nissan Altima for a traffic violation on IH-40 near Bushland, in Potter County.  During the traffic stop, the trooper conducted a search of the vehicle and discovered numerous packages of marijuana weighing over 59 pounds.

The driver of the Nissan, identified as Hanchen Zhou, 30, and passenger Andy Hoang, 51, both of Sacramento, Calif., were arrested, booked into the Potter County jail and charged with felony possession of marijuana.

The illegal drugs were allegedly being transported from Sacramento, Calif., to Georgia.
