The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) seized over $72,000 in marijuana and a stolen gun Sunday.

At approximately 2:46 p.m., a DPS trooper stopped a 2006 Toyota Tundra for a traffic violation on IH-40 near Conway, in Carson County.  During the traffic stop, the trooper conducted a search of the vehicle and discovered over 12 pounds of marijuana and a stolen gun inside hidden compartments.

The driver of the Toyota, identified as Christopher Cooper, 28, of Fresno, Calif., was arrested, booked into the Carson County jail and charged with felony possession of marijuana and felony possession of a stolen firearm.

The illegal drugs were allegedly being transported from Fresno, Calif., to Oklahoma City.
