The DPS says a fatal accident in Haskell County last week was caused by a wild hog.
The accident occurred on U.S. Highway 380, approximately 3 miles east of Haskell, at 9:55 p.m., on July 14th.
Authorities say a Chevrolet Tahoe was traveling east on U.S. 380, while a Chevrolet pickup was traveling west. The Tahoe veered left and into the westbound lane to avoid striking a wild hog. The Tahoe then struck the pickup on the left front, causing both to spin out and come to rest in the north barrow ditch.
The driver of the pickup, identified as Cornelius Dessivia, 46, of Haskell, was transported to Haskell Memorial Hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
The driver of the Tahoe, identified as Erin D. Dunnam, 34, of Haskell, was treated and released from Haskell Memorial Hospital.
