Police in El Paso said Thursday that Aaron Roacho, 17, was charged with murder for his actions in a March 4 six-vehicle crash.

Roacho was the driver of a 1997 Acura, and he had a 16-year-old passenger.  Police said the two were driving away from the scene of a home burglary when Roacho’s car hit a Ford Fusion.

Police said Annette Martinez was a passenger in the Fusion and died as a result of the crash.

Roacho was charged with two counts of burglary of habitation, one from February 29 at the 1100 block of Galloway and a second on the day of the crash.

After the crash, Roacho and his passenger ran away, but were caught and arrested minutes later.

Roacho was held in the El Paso County Detention Facility with bonds totaling $500,000.
