The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) will perform road closures along the US 84 bridge project limits beginning early Tuesday morning, March 14.

The closure will give project contractor Webber Construction the space needed to accommodate equipment and safely pour the deck on the US 84 overpass.

“Starting at 2 a.m. Tuesday, crews will close eastbound US 84, between Frankford Ave. and Kent Street, to all traffic,” said Stevan Perez, P.E. Littlefield Area engineer overseeing the project.

The road closure and detour is expected to continue into Tuesday afternoon; reopening before the afternoon rush hour. All eastbound traffic will be detoured around the work area via southbound Frankford Ave., to Erskine Ave. and north Slide Road to reconnect with US 84.

“Motorists who travel frequently in this area may want to seek alternate routes during this time,” Perez added. “We also ask drivers to pay attention to all signs, barricades and traffic control devices, and to reduce their speed as they approach work zones for their safety and the safety of the workers.”

Westbound US 84 will not be affected. The work and lane closures will take place weather permitting.
