Two people were injured in an East Texas house explosion Tuesday morning.

The incident was reported around 6:00 a.m. in Zavalla.

According to the Zavalla Volunteer Fire Department, an older man and woman were inside the home that exploded.

The woman ended up outside the home, while the man was buried inside. A neighbor was able to drag the man from the house.

The man was then flown to a Galveston hospital with critical injuries.

The woman was taken to a Lufkin hospital with unknown injuries.

Three other homes in the area were also damaged in the explosion.
