An East Texas man is behind bars for allegedly murdering his parents.
On Friday, around 8:40 a.m., the Gladewater Police Department responded to a residence located in the 1500 block of North Main Street in reference to a welfare check on two individuals who were reportedly missing.
Upon arrival, officers spoke with and questioned Casey Lansdale, 41, of Gladewater, who stated he lived at this residence and the two missing individuals in question were his parents.
Officers were told by Casey his parents were not at this location and provided them with information regarding their whereabouts.
While speaking with Casey, officers received consent to search the residence for his parents and upon entering the residence located evidence which led officers to believe Casey was not telling the truth.
Upon further investigation, officers located the deceased bodies of both Raye and Charles Lansdale, both 68, inside of the residence.
After speaking with Casey, investigators placed him under arrest for murder. Casey was later taken to the Gregg County Jail where he was booked in on the charge and is currently being held on a $1,000,000 bond.
Investigators with the Gladewater Police Department and the Gregg County District Attorney’s Office are working together to process the scene and investigate this case. Additional charges against Casey Lansdale possible as this investigation continues.
According to judicial records, Casey has a history of family violence.
He was previously charged with assault/family violence in December 2014 and again in July 2015.
Autopsies will be performed on the deceased to determine the cause and manner of death.
