East Texas Man Claims $20 Million Lotto Texas Jackpot

Byron Lee Sowell, of San Augustine, claimed a $20 million Lotto Texas® jackpot from the Nov. 2, 2016 drawing. Sowell selected the cash value option at the time of purchase and will receive $14,653,943.78. For selling the jackpot-winning ticket, San Augustine Chevron, located at 983 State Hwy. 103 West in San Augustine, is eligible to receive a $201,376.08 retailer bonus. Sowell’s Quick Pick ticket matched all six of the numbers drawn (3-4-29-31-33-50). The claimant requested minimal publicity.

Lotto Texas is played by picking six numbers from one to 54 and offers multi-million dollar jackpots. Drawings are every Wednesday and Saturday at 10:12 p.m. CT. For $1 more per play, players can select the Extra! add-on feature and win up to $10,000 more on non-jackpot prizes.
