An Angelina County teen is behind bars after his mother tried to corral his bad behavior.

According to the Angelina County Sheriff’s Office, at 10:24 a.m. on Saturday, a mother brought her son to the Sheriff’s Office to talk about his behavior. During this time, the boy became loud and began cussing. He was then warned by a deputy to stop.

The deputy’s order made the 17-year-old more angry and he continues to use vulgar language. At this point, authorities tried to put the boy in restraints, but he ran from the deputy. After a short chase, the teenager was captured, but not before kicking the deputy in his arm and wrist.

The suspect, Willie Bernard Ash Jefferson, placed in a patrol car and driven across the driveway the jail salley port. Upon arrival at the jail, deputies discovered the boy had chewed a “blunt” and spit out the remains in the back of the vehicle. Investigators were able to recover a small amount of marijuana.

Jefferson was booked into the Angelina County Jail and charged with resisting arrest, evading arrest, possession of marijuana, disorderly conduct, assault of a public servant, tampering with physical evidence.

He remains in jail on bonds totaling $9,500.
