A Harrison County teenager was recently arrested for sexually assaulting a child under the age of 14.

According to the Upshur County Sheriff’s Office, on Thursday, January 7, deputies were alerted to an 18-year-old who was talking to a child under 14 in an inappropriate manner. The suspect was identified as Bradley Dillon Parmer.

Investigators said Parmer was sending sexually explicit messages and nude photographs of himself to the child. Authorities also learned Parmer had allegedly met with the child days earlier and a sexual encounter occurred.

Detectives stated they were able to listen to Parmer planning to return to Upshur County for another meeting with the underage child. Investigators were able to be at the location and await the suspect’s arrival.

Parmer was taken into custody around midnight without incident. During an interview with deputies, authorities said he confessed to performing a sexual act on the child in the last meeting between him and the child.

Parmer was charged with online solicitation of a minor under 14 and aggravated sexual assault of a child and booked into the Upshur County Jail. Parmer was arraigned by Upshur County Justice of the Peace Pct. #2 Judge Lyle Potter.

Judge Potter set Parmer’s bond at $100,000 on each charge. The case remains under investigation.
