Eastland County Man Charged with Murder Speaks Out

Donald Davis, 53, was charged with the murder of Bobby Blair Wednesday night.  Blair had ties to Post and a memorial will be held for him in Post according to a Facebook post.  It will be Saturday (6/18/16) at 4:00 pm in the First United Methodist Church 216 West 10th.

Davis was accused of shooting and killing Blair outside a residence on the 1300 block of Young Street in Ranger.  He was held in the Eastland County jail on a $1,000,000 bond.

In a jailhouse interview, Davis spoke to Abilene TV station KTAB Thursday night.

“He just pulled in the alley and flung his door open and came running at me,” said Davis. “I ran in my house and got the weapon that was behind my door. It’s always there. I came out and I screamed, ‘You’re not supposed to be here. Go, go,’  And he screamed louder and I just closed my eyes and pulled the trigger.”

Davis said he and Blair have had many altercations before.

“I begged and begged for the police to keep him away from my house,” he added. “He came everyday. He threatened me in front of my neighbors.”

“This night I was just scared to death, I was scared really bad.”

“I was scared. He was scared and it just happened so fast,” explained Davis’ wife Diane Rodriguez. “I know it was self-defense.”
