The U.S. Department of Education is visiting two Ector County schools to check in on the classification of special education students.
District spokesperson Mike Adkins tells us they aren’t aware why they were chosen for review amongst sever other Texas school districts.
ECISD Superintendent Tom Crowe, telling YourBasin.com he doesn’t mind the visit, and it doesn’t make him worry for his district.
“I think as school districts we don’t need to be afraid when people come in and take a look at us because even if they find something, that’s what they’re trying to do is help us improve,” he said.
The Department will make the visit to Burleson and Gonzalez Elementary on February 27th and they’ll meet with faculty and the special education students throughout the day.
