Waco Police now say that the Friday death of an AT&T worker is being investigated as a homicide.
Initially the incident was reported as a possible electrocution that may have occurred while the man was working on lines near the intersection of Barron Avenue and Novelty Street.
Police department spokesman Patrick Swanton now says that evidence gathered at the scene and information from the Medical Examiner indicate he died from violent injuries.
The victim has been identified as 61-year-old Kenneth Wayne Cleveland of Hewitt.
Police got the call just after 11:30 a.m. Friday as a report of a man down.
When they got there they found the victim on a ladder with the initial thought that he had been electrocuted.
