The Lubbock Police Department was called to a Walmart parking lot Saturday evening to a report of at least one “unresponsive” person.
LPD said the situation was “ongoing,” so little information was immediately available.
The Walmart location is 4215 S Loop 289.
Police said “according to the call sheet, it looked like an ‘unresponsive'” person, but LPD could not confirm how many people were involved.
LPD told EverythingLubbock.com that the call came in a request for assistance from an off-duty officer.
A photojournalist on the scene said that an EMS unit left the scene without its lights and sirens on.
Crews observed several police cars in the parking lot, in addition to EMS.
