13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi blasts into theatres this weekend. Directed by Michael Bay of Transformers fame, the movie is based on the best-selling book by Mitchell Zuckoff. It’s the story of six former elite ex-military warriors who fought to protect the U.S. Embassy on September 11, 2012. Members of the squad helped with the film. The rated-R drama runs almost 2-and-a-half hours, and you can join the battle at either Cinemark location or at the Alamo.

The Lubbock Symphony Orchestra presents Nuevo Mundo this weekend only. Lubbock’s own classical guitarist David Brandon will join David Cho and the orchestra in the feast of music from Spain. They will also perform Dvořák’s New World Symphony in the Civic Center Theatre. Tickets range from $25 to $50, available through lubbocksymphony.org.

And tickets are on sale now for the classic, Annie! The tony-award winning Broadway Touring Production comes to Lubbock, thanks to Celebrity Attractions. There are only three shows, one on Friday night, the 29th and two shows on Saturday the 30th. You can get your $30 to $60 tickets through Select-A-Seat.
