Lynn County Sheriff Jerry Franklin provided new details on Monday concerning the re-capture of an escaped inmate.

Franklin previously said Ismael Ramirez Reyes, 41, escaped early Friday morning from the Lynn County Jail.

Reyes was caught Saturday morning about 7:00 a.m. in Roosevelt County between Portales and Muleshoe, according to Franklin. Franklin said Reyes was trying to break in at a dairy.  Franklin said either an owner or an employee of the dairy held Reyes at gunpoint.

The sheriff said Reyes will be charged with escape and possibly unauthorized use of a motor vehicle for stealing vehicles while he was on the run.

Reyes was originally in jail for unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, evading arrest and possession of a firearm by a felon.
