Bacon Heights Baptist Church, 54th Street and Slide Road, will host its annual series titled “Encounter” with Fort Worth evangelist Ronnie Hill at 9:15 a.m., 10:45 a.m. and 6 p.m. Sunday, April 2nd and will continue at 7:00 p.m. the following Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.
There will be a total of six Encounter sessions over a four-day period and will include music with Nick Watts, worship pastor of Bacon Heights and a presentation of God’s word by Hill who preaches a simple message of salvation through Jesus Christ.
Hill began his ministry in Oklahoma and joined the Kelly Green Evangelistic Association in 1987 while attending Oklahoma Baptist University. He traveled with KGEA for ten years before launching his own ministry in 1997.
The Encounter series includes theme nights for children, youth and adults on April 3, 4 and 5, respectively.
“Our hope is to reach out to the folks living around our church who may not know about our faith family and how we can partner with them and serve them through this simple endeavor,” said Lead Pastor Dr. Jason T. Atchley. “We want to express our love for our neighbors and make Encounter a fun, family event.”
Members will participate in an Adopt-A-Block emphasis by personally inviting residents in the 79414 ZIP code area between Slide Road and Quaker Ave. in order to communicate the Encounter services. Bacon Heights Baptist Church is located at 5110 54th Street in Lubbock.
