The Colorado Springs Police Department is still searching for 13-year-old Adalie Rivera, a girl from Lubbock who was visiting with her family for Spring Break. Her family reported her missing on Friday morning, and said she was last seen at the Quality Inn in Colorado Springs on Thursday night.
A friend of the family, Charlcie Brotherton said the Rivera family came to visit them for the week, and they arrived on Tuesday, March 13.
“They’ve been having a great trip we’ve taken little day trips up into the mountains and have gone and done some really fun stuff,” Brotherton said. “She just simply, the only word I can think of is vanished without a trace.”
Brotherton said Adalie’s mother, Estrella Rivera woke up on Friday morning around 7 a.m. and Adalie was missing from the hotel room.
“We don’t know if she left on her own accord, yes there was very little noise,” Brotherton said. “They were all asleep in the hotel together and her mother woke up and found the door propped open and her suitcase was gone and there’s been nothing from her since.”
With the help of local businesses, social media and the Colorado Springs Police Department, family and friends said they won’t stop until they find her.
“You feel like you are going to fall a part, your world is shattering right beneath your feet it’s really hard for everyone involved,” Brotherton said. “We want her home, we want her back safe, we want her to know how much she’s loved.”
The Colorado Springs Police Department is encouraging anyone with information to contact them: 719-444-7000.
On Tuesday March 20, 2017 there will be a search party for her at 9:00 AM outside the Quality Inn and 7-Eleven located on the corner of Powers and Astrozone.
