The family of a man shot dead in December hopes new leads will solve the murder case.

Henry Anderson died December 3, 2015. Friends flagged down an ambulance after the shooting, but Anderson did not make it to the hospital.

The man police believe committed his murder, Isaias Cabello, 27, has not been caught.

Reports have circulated that Cabello was spotted in the Dallas/Forth Worth area recently.

Lubbock Police said the department had received information that Cabello may be in Kansas, Oklahoma, or southern Colorado.

“I think he should have been caught. There is no way a man should be out here three months, and hasn’t been caught. No. I wish I knew where he was. I’d find him myself,” said Anderson’s mother Octavia.

“I wish it wouldn’t have come to this. I would rather have my son more than anything, but I have my two grandkids,” she said through tears. “It’s been real hard, real hard. And it’ll never get easier. Never.”

Anderson’s children, Brooklyn, 6, and Henry III, 4, both said they missed movie nights with their dad.

“We all three used to watch movies,” Brooklyn said. “We look at pictures of him, and sometimes I cry because I see photos of him. Sometimes I like cry.”

“He was an awesome dad,” said Nay Hernandez, the mother of Anderson’s kids. “He was a character. You could never be mad at him because he would find some way to not make you mad at him.”

“His time was cut short,” Hernandez said. “He was one of a kind.”

Hernandez said she wanted Cabello to take responsibility for the crime he’s accused of.

“Knowing that he pays for the murder that he did, will give us a little bit of closure,” she said.

Friends and family have plans for a fundraiser to add to the $5,000 reward for information leading to Cabello’s arrest.
