A Lubbock family sharing their devastation about the most recent homicide in a Central Lubbock neighborhood.

Devon Holland, 18, was shot and killed on Sunday at the 1900 block of 66th street. When EMS arrived they pronounced Holland dead on scene, he suffered a gunshot wound to his neck and chest.

Quaylon Jamar Williams,18, turned himself into Lubbock Police and was arrested for the murder of Holland.

Holland’s older sister Arcasia Holland said her brother had a newborn baby that he loved. She released the following statement to Everythinglubbock.com:

“Dee was a good man. I mean he’s not perfect, but he really has a heart of gold. It wasn’t anything that I would ask him for that he wouldn’t get for me. He has a son and a nephew that he loved more than anything in this world and he would do whatever it took to make them happy.
Dee didn’t deserve to die like he did. He will be truly missed and his name will live forever. He loved all of his family and friends.” – Arcasia Holland

Others in the community, like neighbors also sharing their condolences.

“We’re sorry for the family and what happened to them and we hope for the best and that we know he’s up there with God and that he’ll be okay,” said Daniel Rodriguez.
