In the unofficial final results, Gilbert A. Flores defeated Lorenzo “Bubba” Sedeño Tuesday evening in the March 1 Democratic Primaryfor Lubbock County Commissioner Precinct 3.
The challenger, Flores, had 51.53 percent and the incumbent, Sedeño, had 48.47 percent.
Flores said he feels comfortable and confident that Tuesday was a good day for him.
He said, “Today belongs to me.”
There is no Republican in the race for Precinct 3, so the outcome of the primary dictates the result of the November election for this office.
Note: Frank Gutierrez dropped out of the Republican side of the Precinct 3 race to run for a City of Lubbock office.
