UPDATED LINK: Floydada Police Release Name of Murder Suspect

The Floydada Police Department posted a statement on Facebook late Wednesday afternoon.

It said, “Floydada Police were called to a disturbance on August 16 that resulted in the death of one individual. The investigation is ongoing and details will be released at the appropriate time in order to protect the integrity of the case.”

An officer with FPD said “We can’t release any more information.”

State law requires the release of certain information and EverythingLubbock will make an open records request to get it.

Also, a phone message was left for the Floyd County Sheriff.

Just before 5:30 the Floyd County Hesperian Beacon posted to its Facebook page.

It said, “According to Floydada police two brothers were fighting yesterday, and the younger brother was injured and taken to the hospital where he died from his injuries. The older brother has been arrested.”
