The Floydada Police Department on Thursday morning released names and other information in a murder case.
The FPD statement is as follows:
On August 16, 2016 at about 5:45 pm, a Floydada Police Officer was on patrol and observed a domestic disturbance in progress in the 200 Block of West Houston Street. He observed the victim, Cristal Jesus Cruz, in an altercation with his brother, Raul Cruz Jr. Cristal Cruz was found to be breathing but unresponsive by the time the officer was able to turn around and approach the scene. Raul Cruz Jr. was then arrested for Aggravated Assault. Cristal Cruz was transported to University Medical Center in Lubbock, Texas where he died from his injuries on August 17. The charge against Raul Cruz Jr. was upgraded to Murder and he is being held in Garza County Jail on a $100,000 bond.
