EverythingLubbock.com independently confirmed that former Lubbock Congressman Randy Neugebauer met with Donald Trump at Trump Tower in New York on Wednesday.

In late 2016, the Huffington Post reported that Neugebauer’s name was mentioned as a possible replacement for the head of the federal Consumer Financial Protection Bureau.  The current head of CFPB is Richard Cordray.  On Tuesday CNNMoney reported that there was talk of Trump firing and replacing Cordray.

Our sources did not confirm what position in the upcoming administration, if any, Trump and Neugebauer talked about.

EverythingLubbock.com will update this story as new information develops.
