Alexandria Vera, 24, was sentenced on Friday to 10 years in prison according to the Houston Chronicle.
Vera was a middle school teacher at Aldine ISD in the greater Houston area. When questioned by police last year, she admitted to having a sexual relationship with a 13-year-old student. She also admitted to getting pregnant with his child. She later had an abortion.
The Chronicle reported, “She apparently let two eighth graders have sex at her home, prosecutors said in court.”
The Chronicle also said Vera’s 6-year-old daughter would refer to the 13-year-old as dad.
Aggravated Sexual Assault of a Child would normally carry a maximum of life in prison. But under the terms of a plea deal, the maximum sentence was 30 years.
