Less than a week after being demoted to Captain, former Lubbock police Chief Roger Ellis has left the department.
EverythingLubbock.com was told by LPD Public Information Officer, Lieutenant Ray Mendoza, that Ellis decided to retire. He had been with the department for more than 30 years.
Last week City Manager, James Loomis, removed Ellis from being Chief and promoted Assistant Chief Jerry Brewer to acting chief.
