A former Baylor University student, along with her attorneys, will publicly announce the filing of a lawsuit against the school after they say Baylor authorities were deliberately indifferent to complaints by student victims of rape by Baylor football player, Tevin Elliott.

The press conference with Alex Zalkin and Ryan Cohen of The Zalkin Law Firm based in San Diego, California, on behalf of the plaintiff, Jasmin Hernandez, will take place Thursday, March 31, at 11:00 a.m., at the Courtyard by Marriott, Meeting Room B. The hotel is located at 101 Washington Avenue in Waco.

Elliott, an East Texas native and graduate of Mount Pleasant High School, was sentenced to 20 years in prison and fined $10,000 for each of his two sexual assault convictions. The assaults occurred in 2012.

The announcement comes just a few months after another former Baylor football player was convicted of sexual assault and denied a new trial.

In August 2014, Sam Ukwuachu, was sentenced to six months in jail, 10 years probation and 400 hours of community service after a jury found him guilty of sexually assaulting a former Baylor soccer player in 2013.
