The Museum of Texas Tech Association will host the fourth annual Art on the Llano Estacado Show and Sale April 29th and April 30th.

The exclusive ticketed event opens at 6 p.m. April 29th in the Museum of Texas Tech University Helen Devitt Jones Sculpture Court. Art on the Llano Estacado is a fundraiser to support the Museum. This event will feature a cocktail party, buffet and intent to purchase art sale.

The event will feature about 200 original works of art by 42 artists from across the southwest representing a wide variety of styles and media.

The 2017 Legacy Award recipient will be Rosie Sandifer. Rosie has participated in our show for four years and is always a crowd favorite.

“Rosie Sandifer’s compelling yet unpretentious landscape paintings reflect a sculptor’s keen eye for scale, mass, and grain and a feeling for space and horizon gained from years of living on the High Plains of West Texas and in the desert Southwest. She is not only a clear-eyed interpreter of time and place but also a visual poet. ” Byron Price

She studied both commercial art and art education at university level, trained with Froman Painting School, the Art Student’s League’s landscape, and Richard Schmid.

Though she has established a reputation with her monumental sculptures, she first was recognized as a painter in the Laguna Gloria Art Museum’s Exhibits. She is a Fellow of American Artists Professional League, National Sculpture Society, and Allied Artists of America.

Some of Sandifer’s awards include Best of Show, Oil ‐Cowboy Art Exhibit in Texas, Cavanaugh Memorial Prize‐National Sculpture Society in NY, and Gold Medal for Sculpture‐ American Artists Professional League in NY.

Her work has been featured in Southwest Art, Western Art Collector and in Language of Art, Texas Traditions, and Art of the National Parks books.

The April 29th reception will feature a chance to meet the artists, first chance to buy works of art, cocktails, a buffet dinner and entertainment by the Alma Quartet. During the reception a portrait sitting by artist Paul Milosevich will be offered during a silent auction.
