Frenship High School Head Football Coach Brad Davis announced his resignation Wednesday after leading the program for the previous eleven seasons.
The resignation comes after Frenship’s 2016 season came to an end Friday with a 30-16 loss to El Paso Americas in the Class 6A playoffs.
Coach Davis compiled an overall record of 102-34 during his eleven years as Frenship’s head coach (2006-2016). Under his leadership, the Tigers won eight district championships and qualified for the playoffs ten times including an appearance in the state semifinals in 2006 and three additional trips to the state quarterfinals in 2007, 2008 and 2012.
FHS was undefeated in district during seven of the eight district championship seasons.
“We appreciate the dedicated effort Brad has put forth on behalf of Frenship,” said FISD Director of Athletics Kenny Catney. “From the first time I met Brad, I could tell he was a man of high character and a quality person leading a group of young men.”
No timeline has been set to announce a new head football coach.
