A police report said sometime between January 5 and Thursday afternoon (January 14) someone broke into a home in the 3500 block of 104th Street to steal a number of guns including a fully automatic Uzi worth $20,000.
EverythingLubbock.com has withheld the name of the burglary victim out of concern for his privacy. A phone message was left for him to request comment and this story will be updated if he accepts the offer.
Eleven items were listed as stolen – most of them guns (a 12th item was listed as damaged).
Lubbock Police said it is not illegal to own a fully-automatic Uzi. Information on the Internet indicates such a weapon is legal if properly registered with the federal government.
A police report said, “[The victim] advised an unknown suspect … entered his residence without his consent and stole multiple firearms.”
The police report also said “suspect not located.”
A spokesman for Lubbock Police on Friday said, “No guns have been recovered and no arrest have been made.”
