LUBBOCK, TX (PRESS RELEASE) — The Lubbock Municipal Garden and Arts Center (GAC) will host a reception on Friday, June 5, 2015 from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. for the opening of Watercolor Works by Jo Beth Gilliam. This open exhibition features the watercolor stylings of award-winning artist Jo Beth Gilliam. A Lubbock native, her works have been exhibited in venues across Texas and the South Plains area. Jo Beth has been painting for over four decades, during which time she has developed her loose and colorful style. Continually drawn to watercolor because of its “spontaneity and excitement,” Jo Beth prefers to paint dynamic scenes of open markets and active streets, in addition to the occasional still life. This exhibit will be free and open to the public.
The Lubbock Municipal Garden and Arts Center strives to offer an array of fun and comprehensive classes and events for all ages, from basic classes in painting, drawing and photography, to specialized classes such as faux finishing. The Center is located at 4215 University Avenue. For more information on classes or reservations please call the Lubbock Municipal Garden and Arts Center at (806) 767-3724, email pgriffith@mylubbock.us or visit our web site at www.lubbockgac.org.
