The month of April is nationally recognized as Child Abuse Awareness Month, but the South Plains Coalition for Child Abuse Prevention is encouraging community members to get involved early.
“Go Blue Lubbock” is a project of the coalition’s to combat child abuse at the local level. Everyday in Lubbock County, an average of three children become confirmed victims of child abuse and neglect. The majority of the victims are under the age of three.
Organizers within Go Blue Lubbock want to encourage community members to begin showing their support by ordering blue T-Shirts in order to “commit to prevent” child abuse.
Go Blue Lubbock shirts can be ordered online through Advance Graphix through Friday, March 10 and are sold at cost so that everyone who wants to participate may do so.
Shirts can be picked up beginning March 22nd at the Lubbock Area United Way located at 1655 Main St.
Both adult and children’s sizes are available. Link to order online: https://app.evetos.com/Common/PreviewOrder.aspx?q=1397
