WHAT: “Gotcha Day” Celebration for our new House Dog image
WHERE: At the Ronald McDonald House
LOCATION: 3413 10th Street / Lubbock, Texas
WHEN: Tuesday, July 14, 2015 from 11:30am to 1:00pm
DETAILS: Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Southwest would like to introduce the community to our new House Dog … Jax! Jax is a 2 y/o male yellow Labrador and is a bred and trained service animal. He was awarded to our chapter through a special partnership and career change program with Guide Dogs for the Blind in San Rafael, California. Jax is now our CCO – Chief Cheer Officer, that is! Jax’s job description is simple: Spread love and give joy to the families we serve. “Families staying with us are dealing with the stress of a sick child in the hospital. Many times, they leave their four-legged family members behind. Having Jax as part of the RMHC Team will help spread a little cheer to a sick child’s day”, says Dina Jeffries, President & CEO.
“The RMHC board and staff are always looking for new and meaningful ways to meet the needs of the families we serve”, says Randy Laycock, Board Chairman. “We’re excited to introduce Jax to the community”.
This come and go event will be a fun opportunity to meet our new team member and will serve as the first official celebration welcoming Jax to his new home. McDonald’s will also be providing and cooking hamburgers on the grill for lunch.
The Ronald McDonald House®, Ronald McDonald Family Rooms® and Ronald McDonald Care Mobile® allow families to stay together during times of illness when a family’s love and support is critical. These services are dependent upon your generosity!
Ronald McDonald House Charities is a non-profit charity whose programs now serve over 13,000 people each year across 68 counties of West Texas and Southeastern New Mexico. Contributions stay local and continue to support families of this area. Over 80% of our income is generated by donations.
No family is ever turned away for inability to pay and may stay with us for as long as it takes for their child to heal.
