A large grass fire caused traffic problems along Highway 114 near Smyer Friday afternoon.
Levelland and West Carlisle were called out sometime before 3:00 pm. For a time, eastbound traffic was restricted then completely shut down because of smoke and zero visibility.
By 3:50 pm, a photojournalist at the scene said the fire was out and traffic was restored to normal. There was no word yet on possible injuries or the extent of property damage.
