The College Station City Council adopted an ordinance banning the use of hand held communication devices while driving a motor vehicle or bicycle in the city limits.
The ordinance goes into effect on November 9, 2016.
City officials put out signs in several highly traveled roadways to remind drivers of this ordinance.
Violators will be issued warnings for a short period of time to continue the educational process. After that period, if you are caught using a cell phone while driving you could face a fine up to $200.
