If the original Conjuring wasn’t enough for you, The Conjuring 2 is sure to shock. Based on a “true story,” Lorraine and Ed Warren travel to London, where evil spirits torment a single mom and her four children. It was one of their most terrifying paranormal investigations: the Enfield Poltergeist case in the late 70s. The rated-R horror film runs just longer that two hours, and you can see it through your fingers at either Cinemark, the Alamo, and Stars & Stripes.

Lubbock Moonlight Musicals kicks off it’s 11th summer season with Seussical. Narrated by the Cat in the Hat, it tells the story of Horton the Elephant’s desperate attempt to save the Whos in Whoville. It’s a great production for the entire family, and it runs Friday and Saturday nights for the next three weekends. Gates open at 7:00 p.m. and the shows start at 8:00 p.m., out at the Amphitheater in Mackenzie Park. Tickets are $20 for adults and $7 for children, with premium seating available, through Select-A-Seat.

The 19th annual Llano Wine and Clay Festival is this weekend. The Llano Estacado Clay Guild sets up shop in the Llano Estacado Winery cellars. It’s all day Saturday, from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and Sunday, noon to 5:00 p.m. There will be live music much more. The festival is free… but not the wine, for sale by the glass.

That’s a look at what’s in the Hub City!
