A new study suggested pregnant women who lie on their backs in the third trimester may be at increased risk of a stillbirth. Doctors in New Zealand found pregnant women lying face up can add extra stress on the fetus and reduce its oxygen consumption.
 
Researchers tracking Alzheimer’s patients found occupational therapy did not slow the decline in patients with dementia. Physicians found community-based services and home modifications did help reduce caregiver stress but they didn’t help reduce patients’ functional decline. 
 
A new study on mortality shows men still have catching up to do when it comes to life expectancy. An international team looked at birth and death records since the 18th century. They found despite huge jumps in longevity, men still don’t live as long as women, and they aren’t sure why.
