Healthcast : A Study on E-Cigarette Safety

A new long-term study confirmed e-cigarettes are safer and less toxic than regular cigarettes. Researchers in London found former smokers who completely replaced cigarettes with e-cigarettes lowered their intake of cancer-causing chemicals. The authors stressed users must stop smoking cigarettes completely to receive the health benefits.
 
Obese patients are less likely to receive high quality end of life care, according to new research from the University of Michigan. The study found the higher someone’s Body Mass Index, the less likely he or she was to enter hospice care. One author suggested the reason might be that obese patients can require more staff to take care of them, suggesting it may be a financial issue.
 
Endurance exercise could provide just as much benefit to your heart as lowering your cholesterol and eating a healthy diet. Scientists studying mice found exercise provided a protective benefit to the heart after just a single session.
