Exercising is the most important choice breast cancer survivors can make to avoid a recurrence. Canadian researchers found gaining weight after breast cancer treatment can increase the risk of dying from cancer. Doctors recommend at least 30 minutes of exercise, five days a week.

New landmark research on testosterone treatment found it does not improve memory or mental function in older men. Researchers found using testosterone for a year may help strengthen bones and reduce anemia, but there were signs the treatment could make artery disease worse.   

Using ultrasound to speed up fracture healing has little or no impact, according to research in the British Medical Journal. It found the high-cost treatment does not help when it comes to pain or recovery time for patients.
