A new study suggested one in six adults in the U.S. take some form of psychiatric drug. Researchers found use rises with age, with about 25-percent of adults over sixty taking anti-depressants, sedatives, or anti-psychotics.

Scientists at Stanford said a new blood test may be safer, cheaper, faster, and more effective in monitoring treatments for lung cancer patients. Doctors said tracking the genetics of the tumor cell which circulates in the blood can help target chemotherapy.  It’s also less invasive than lung biopsies and CT scans.

Doctors at the University of Pennsylvania found that genes known to be essential to life may be linked to a higher risk of autism spectrum disorder.  Researchers looked at genetics from 1,700 families and found high levels of mutations in the genes needed to survive and thrive in the womb could play a role in the disorder.
