Older men who exercise regularly are less likely to fall and hurt themselves, according to researchers at Yale University. They looked at hundreds of men between 70 and 89-years-old. A similar link was not found in women.
The earlier that pregnant women with severe flu get on antiviral medication the better. A Centers for Disease Control and Prevention study found expectant moms who take Tamiflu within two days of their symptoms cut their hospital stays by about five days. Research has shown pregnant women are at higher risk for serious flu complications, even death.
Researchers in London found plaque buildup related to Alzheimer’s disease in people with moderate to severe brain injuries. The small study looked at nine people around age 44. Doctors said the findings suggest that damage to the brain may trigger the production of plaque.
