We all know that sitting too much is bad for you. Now new research from Sweden said it can be deadly. The 45 year study followed nearly 800 men and linked low physical activity to a high risk of death, second only to smoking.
Another international study has found exercise alone can cut down on the number of obese women who develop diabetes during pregnancy. Researchers tracked nearly 100 obese expectant moms and found exercise lowered blood pressure and the risk of gestational diabetes.
The age a woman goes through menopause can increase her chances of diabetes, according to a new Kaiser Permanente study of nearly 125,000 women. It shows women who start menopause before age 45 or after 55 are at increased risk of developing type 2 diabetes.
