People who spend time in the hospital with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease need to be active when they get home. A new study has found COPD patients who exercise have a 47% lower risk of death in the year after discharge.

Keeping your heart healthy may have even more benefits. A new study has linked good cardiovascular health with a slower decline in brain function, especially for non-smokers and people at a healthy weight. 

The verdict is still out on whether sit-stand desks benefit your health. Researchers found no evidence that people who used the desks sat significantly less than when they used a conventional desk. Health experts have warned that long periods of sitting can increase the risk of heart disease and obesity.
