A new study has found tonsillectomies can improve the quality of life for adults who suffer from frequent sore throats. German researchers tracked more than 100 adults who had their tonsils removed. They found those people had fewer sore throats, doctor visits and work absences.
E-cigarette advertisements for flavors like chocolate and bubble gum are more likely to attract children than advertisements featuring non-flavored e-cigarettes, according to U.K. researchers who tested nearly 600 children. There are currently no regulations that keep advertisers from pitching candy-flavored e-cigarettes in the United States.
Texas researchers have said challenging the brain can slow cognitive decline. During a 14 week study, some older adults learned quilting and digital photography, while others sat around and talked. Researchers found those who learned new skills improved their memory and ability to understand words.
