Children who take antibiotics may be more likely to develop juvenile arthritis. Researchers at Rutgers University tracked about 450,000 kids. They found children who were prescribed antibiotics had twice the risk of other children. Researchers also said the more courses of antibiotics they took, the higher that risk.
Doctors in Oregon have found misconceptions about antibiotic use for parents of children under six. The misconceptions, researchers said, were particularly prevalent among low income families. While researchers found there was still overuse of antibiotics, there had been a decline over the last two decades.
A study of about 30,000 men over the age of 40 suggested there was no link between testosterone therapy and blood clots. In 2014, the Food and Drug Administration required a warning about the risk of clots on all approved testosterone products.
